First opened in 1979, the Dubai World Trade Centre holds more than 500 events annually, attracting millions of visitors. In February 2017, Harlequin Arena was awarded the design and build contract to extend the center’s exhibition halls, becoming the sole contractor for the entire project. Beginning in May and completed in September, Harlequin Arena’s team were proud of the finished work which stands as a strong example of how the company can transform existing spaces.

Working with the organisers of the biannual World Skills global event at ADNEC in Abu Dhabi, Harlequin Arena supplied extensive temporary infrastructure for the opening and closing ceremony at the Du Arena, as well as for the competition itself.

Due to a very tight two-week build schedule, a detailed phasing plan was developed to co-ordinate all deliveries/installations with the client, creative agency People, alongside AES. Our team worked in tandem with the client and other suppliers day and night and the work was completed in 12 days.

For the opening and closing ceremonies Harlequin Arena installed a 3,500sqm stage and seating grandstand – including 390 padded VIP seats - using the company’s configurable clearview system. A VVIP seating area was air conditioned using underfloor cooling - a last-minute request completed in 48 hours. Our work also included installing the competition and back-of-house space and a majlis structure.

From Design to Delivery Harlequin Arena has supplied Structures, Interior fit out, Furniture and Cooling for the Championship for the last 9 years. 2017 kicked off with a renewed 4 yr. contract and the opportunity to roll out the new and improved 18th Hospitality Pavilion, which has become one of the highlights of the tournament. The pavilion boasts nearly 4,000m2 of premium hospitality space built over 2 floors with 5 star food and beverage facilities, integrated bathrooms, air conditioning throughout, sports bar, stylish lounge areas, networking facilities and unrivalled views of the golf action. This year saw the introduction of the new Arena Super Deck and included a upgraded floor system with cantilevered balconies with pillarless viewing, a fresh contemporary interior look along with the new Scandinavian furniture range.

Harlequin, is and always has been a valued partner. Having won a recent 4-year RFP with us, it demonstrates our confidence in their delivery and their commitment to work with us to continuously grow and develop the event. All of our requests are taken on board and treated as a challenge to be accomplished. From pillar-less viewing of the balcony to custom-made roofing system, nothing seems impossible!
The efficient way they manage the project - from response time to full accountability have continued to strengthen the 9-year relationship. The Championship is always focused on building a strong network of family of suppliers / partners whom understand the end target / objectives and work together to achieve them (and have fun while doing it!). Harlequin is one of them and we look forward to redefining the Championship offering in 2018!

Arena Group supplied stunning event overlay for the first visit of the Presidents Cup to Asia, October 6-11, 2015.

The Presidents Cup was a passionately competed tournament, showcasing world class golf at the Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea, in Songdo IBD. The 11th iteration of this prestigious bi-annual tournament saw team USA victorious over the International team by just one point after four days of brilliant golf.

Asia Tents Arena, part of the Arena Group, received praise from all quarters for the high quality delivery of overlay commodities across the course.

"This has been the best infrastructure I have ever seen on a Presidents Cup tournament, which is all the more incredible given that it is our first tournament in Asia. From the design and planning stage, installation and throughout the tournament, the team at Asia Tents Arena has responded incredibly well to so many different challenges. Whenever we've asked, they have delivered."
